STUDENTS SPEAK

"I wasn't really sure about what I wanted to do after school and forcing myself into any one course didn't seem like the best option. Liberal Arts seemed to be the ideal course for my situation. As it gives a broad-based understanding of a wide range of subjects as well as time to think and get a better idea about what I want in life."

"I was a commerce student but after studying commerce for two years, I felt that that the field was quite narrow. Everything we did was really mundane and boring. One of my friends suggested Liberal Arts and after enquiring and attending the seminars, I realized that liberal arts is the right course for me. It has a lot of subjects which gives the student a holistic view of the world. It also helps to build your personality and think critically."

"After my 12th, I wasn't sure of what I wanted to do further but I was sure of one thing: that my years of studying Science were over. I have an interest in defence services after graduation and I feel Liberal Arts definitely gives an overall broad and trans-disciplinary perspective which will be useful for the UPSC, CDSE examination. Besides if I change my interest, I will still have time to make the change."

Joining NMIMS was a very big decision that I took and probably the best one. This is a new experience which I am going to cherish all my life. I always wanted to pursue Liberal Arts Education as it helps students to think critically and analyse the situation with a completely different lens. It helps develop one's intellectual as well as analytical ability by connecting dots through concepts and principles in various frameworks. Liberal Arts Education also contributes to a student's happiness as knowing about the various walks of life increases pleasure in further learning. As stated by Robert Harris, "a cultivated mind enjoys itself and life "and, "knowledge makes you smarter and smarter makes you happier." So by the end of the day we all know what we are doing in NMIMS, one of the reasons is to study liberally. We are blessed to have this opportunity and be a part of this enriching and ever growing field of study.

"After my 12th, I was aiming for medical school but then suddenly decided to pursue an undergrad in Liberal Arts instead. The subjects this course offers are varied and because of this we get a holistic understanding of the world. Liberal arts has made me grow as a person from within. I am glad I chose it."
